In the music industry, there are a select few who can truly say that they’ve done it all. This group may be quite familiar to you. You’ve got someone like music artist, John Legend who’s already scored 31 Grammy nominations and 11 wins. Then, you’ve also got the amazing Beyoncé, who has had 70 Grammy nominations and 24 wins so far and has helped put other stars on the map. Meanwhile, in the world of Latin pop, you’ve got Enrique Iglesias, who is also a Grammy star with four nominations and one win to date.
Iglesias is the son of legendary singer, Julio Iglesias, so we know that music runs in his blood. Over the years, he’s become known for songs such as Bailando, Hero, Experiencia Religiosa, and many more. His musical talents helped him build an estimated fortune of $100 million.
With all the money that Enrique Iglesias has, he also knows how to spend it and the things that Iglesias' money has purchased are extravagant.
Updated November 2023: Enrique Iglesias may have been a son of music royalty but he did not use his name to get a foot in the door. He let his talent speak for himself. Talent which has done just that and landed Iglesias with a net worth of $100 million, a figure that will only continue to grow. This is because Iglesias is currently on tour with Ricky Martin and Pitbull. The venues are sold out and that means great profits are split three ways. Great news for Iglesias so that he can continue to shop any way he wants to and not have any regrets from it.
Built way back in 1973, the singer decided to do renovations on the property back in 2003. Even then, he could probably see the home’s investment potential. After all, it boasts 6,6670 square feet of space, five bedrooms, and seven bathrooms. Moreover, according to Architectural Digest, the home comes with a 1,400-square-foot swimming pool, a private dock, and a rooftop terrace with a Jacuzzi.
Iglesias eventually sold the home. Several years later, the estate went on the market for a cool $25 million.
When Iglesias gave a beautiful ring to Anna Kournikova, he wanted it to make a statement.
According to the company, Johnston Jewelers: "This $2.5 million pear-cut pink diamond, created by Argyle Jewels, weighs in at a whopping 11 carats. It's also flanked by two "smaller" white diamonds on both sides.
The home that Iglesias purchased is set on approximately 6,800 square feet of land.
According to a report from Mansion Global: "They built the six-bedroom house for Ms. Kournikova’s grandparents, but once the house was completed, they decided it was too big and decided to sell."
In 2018, the home came with an asking price of $4.85 million.
3:56Just like other celebrities, Iglesias and Kournikova are quite protective when it comes to their children. So, it is only understandable that Iglesias would be willing to spend a great deal of money to keep them safe.
While Kournikova was still pregnant with the couple’s twins, they had a 16-foot wall erected in front of their property. The couple’s swimming pool underwent some babyproofing too.
Being one of the hottest couples in town, it’s only natural for Kournikova and Iglesias to get followed wherever they go. As a result, we know that they dine in some of the fanciest restaurants around.
For instance, they joined friends at the upscale eatery, Philippe Chow. According to People, the group enjoyed some Peking duck, lettuce wraps, chicken satay, spring rolls, dumplings, and lobster.
Back in April 2015, Iglesias posted a photo of himself as he made his way to a waiting helicopter. On the post, he also wrote, "pre #flight #inspection flight lessons #Guatemala #helicopter #helicopters #flying #iloveit."
It remains unclear if Iglesias has already purchased a chopper for himself. It might be a good idea for him to get one in order to avoid traffic.
Aside from choppers, Iglesias has also been seen traveling via private jet.
According to the Herald Weekly, the singer is supposed to be the proud owner of a Gulfstream IV jet that is estimated to be worth $3.6 million. This way, he can fly to concert venues around the world easily. The operating costs are between $1.6 million and $2.8 million.
So, in a way, this is a business investment for the singer.
Over the years, it became clear that Iglesias was the proud owner of several impressive cars. He's bought a Lamborghini, a Ferrari, a Porsche, and many other hot cars.
Back in 2016, Iglesias announced that he was auctioning some of his rides for a good cause. On Twitter, he posted, "This is my collection of cars, today will be auctioned and the proceeds will go to UNICEF all, for children in Africa."
These days, Iglesias owns four cars, none of which are worth over $100,000.
Golf is one sport that costs a lot of money to play. However, Iglesias is a millionaire and he doesn’t really mind. He’s a huge fan of the sport and is willing to travel to play at some of the best golf courses around the world.
In fact, he once told The Telegraph, "I was reading about Donald Trump's plans for a golf course, and the photos of Scotland looked beautiful – amazing beaches. I've only been to Glasgow, so I will definitely spend some time there."
The donation to Save the Children was made in support of a literacy program for elementary school children in Peru, Guatemala, and El Salvador. Everyone was incredibly grateful to Iglesias for the donation.
"We are tremendously grateful for Enrique’s donation to our Literacy Boost program," Mary McInerney said in a statement. It will help the teachers improve their lesson plans and create learning materials, such as stories for the kids to read during reading camp with their reading buddies."
Iglesias was lucky that he had his nanny to pay for his demo which would eventually make him a star. Not all aspiring musicians and singers are as fortunate. As such, Iglesias helped to fund the Berklee Scholarship.
In partnership with the Latin Grammy Foundation, Iglesias donated some of his own money to build the scholarship fund. As a result of this, a $200,000 scholarship was given out to help make dreams come true.
In 2018, the soccer legend, Christiano Ronaldo, took to Twitter, saying: “Very pleased to announce the gesture of my friend @enriqueiglesias donating 7% of the concert revenues in Lisbon to the IPO.”
IPO stands for the Portuguese Institute of Oncology of Lisbon (Instituto Portugues de Oncologia de Lisboa).
Meanwhile, Iglesias also tweeted, “Honored to support such an incredible cause with @cristiano!! Gracias campeón!!”
The Altice Arena in Lisbon can hold between 12,500 and 20,000 spectators. With average tickets costing approximately $60 a piece, Iglesias donated a pretty penny.
Iglesias and his family have been spotted taking boat rides in the past. Naturally, he likes going to sunny destinations and chooses to do so on his Intrepid.
Iglesias told TheTelegraph, “I need sun. There's nothing more depressing than rain on a holiday. I also need activity of some sort. I go nuts doing nothing, just lying about is so boring. I need things of interest to see, or to play some kind of sport.”
Iglesias is no stranger to taking lavish vacations. He has done so all his life and is passing the tradition of going to amazing places on to his family.
"I love skiing, and have had great holidays in Breckenridge," Iglesias told TheTelegraph. "A day in the crisp snow, blue skies and the sun is pretty hard to beat. But when I think of my best holiday ever, it has to be the holidays we had in Madrid when I was young. I was born in Madrid and then moved to Miami, so going back to Madrid, staying at my mother's house and catching up with friends and family, was great fun, particularly at Christmas."
One of Iglesias’ famous restaurants is Tatel at the Ritz-Carlton, which had to close following the damage it sustained due to Hurricane Irma. However, other locations were opened in Ibiza, Madrid, and Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, the singer also partnered with Rafael Nadal and Cristiano Ronaldo to open Zela London. According to Open Table, it is a multifunctional restaurant that serves "a fusion of Mediterranean products and traditional Japanese cuisine techniques."
After Iglesias was introduced to a particular rum by friends, Iglesias enjoyed it so much that he had no problem becoming a business partner with the company.
"I was introduced to ATLANTICO by friends in Miami, quickly became a fan, and followed its development over the last couple of years," Iglesias explained. "I was recently introduced to its co-founders, Brandon Lieb and Aleco Azqueta, and was immediately drawn to their entrepreneurial spirit and passion for developing a world-class product. I am now delighted to be a partner in this top-quality rum."
